As acknowledgment and recognition of the Native peoples who have inhabited this land since time immemorial, we acknowledge and honor the diverse Indigenous nations that call Montana home. This land, once occupied by tribes such as the Blackfeet Confederacy, the Salish and Kootenai Tribes, the Crow Nation, the Assiniboine and Sioux Tribes, and others, carries deep ancestral connections and spiritual significance. We acknowledge the ongoing presence and resilience of these Indigenous communities, and express gratitude for their stewardship of the land throughout history. This acknowledgement serves as a reminder of the need for ongoing collaboration, reconciliation, and respect for the traditions, cultures, and sovereignty of Montana's Native peoples.
